turkey is on a distinguished road

I'd like to setup my new desktop in the living room. The primary connection will be HDMI to an LCD 32" for gaming. However, I'd also like to access it in another room, while it remains connected in the living room.

Is there a way connect the desktop to another room via mouse, keyboard, and monitor without moving it around the apartment each time?

Is there a good solution? Some kind of cabling or wireless configuration?

Thank you.

Yes. You have to use a wireless kit mouse and keyboard with a powerfull signal in the second room and a video card with 2 DVI/HDMI ports + an extra long DVI/HDMI cable. Via the long cable. you connect the second DVI/HDMI vga port to the LCD in the second room and set the VGA driver to clone the desktop via the second port. Wth the wireless kit you take control of the desktop and you will have the same image in both rooms.***

You could use an wireless keyboard and mouse setup, but they might not have enough power to function properly if there are walls between them and the receiver (most common problem is lag). But by placing the receiver somwhere between the rooms, it might work. Usually these receivers have a 30 feet (10 meters) range.

Also, you could connect 2 keyboards and 2 mice to the same PC. One keyboard an mouse set in the living room, and another through USB extension cables, as long as the total length of the cables doesn't exceed 5 meters.

Another solution (and probably the best) is an network USB hub, like this one but there are slim chances to find something like that in Romania. You could connect a hub like this through a RJ45 cable with the maximum length of 100 meters.

As for the second monitor, you could connect it through an extra long HDMI or DVI cable, as mentioned in the previous post

There are solutions right here in .ro. You need something like this for extending de USB wire
http://www.conectica.ro/display/1-1-...Roline_5M.html
http://www.conectica.ro/display/1-1-...line_45_M.html

It is pretty expensive but it will work for sure. Wireless conections are very poor through walls.

Yes, you have a good question.
Laur. says a corect answer, but, I remind, you have to buy a very good signal wireless kit.
I think that just one person could use this computer, because, the user in the operating system isn't cloned and I think it is possible.

Sorry for my English.
I hope I helped you!

I forgot about jonutzu's solution.
You could pair more 5 meters cables or go for the second option.

@jonutzu: Could he use an cheap USB hub at the end of either of these cables? Because he needs 2 USB ports, one for the kb, one for the mouse.

turkey what is the distance between the two rooms? If you don't find a video cable long enough you could use something like this: http://www.conectica.ro/display/1-3-...80M_Value.html (very expensive, only if you have no other options).

I think he could use a usb hub at the other end of the usb extender, but i'm not very sure.

Ok, 10 meters means this is probably the best setup:

For the second monitor, which type of cable to use depends on what type of connectors you have available on the video card and on the second monitor. Here you should find whatever cable you need: http://www.elfast.ro/shop/produse/7-...-si-mini-hdmi/

For the mouse and keyboard, it's probably best to pair two of these, and if it's not long enough, you can add an regular extension cable, like this one. Oh, and you also need a USB hub, like this one, to connect both the keyboard and the mouse.

Should you need more specific help, post your complete system specs, including monitors' models.

I just found another solution:
One of these:

One of these mice: http://www.pcgarage.ro/cauta/bluetooth?c=51

And this keyboard:

Or the above adapter and the Logitech diNovo Edge, which has a integrated trackpad, but note that gaming would not be an option on the trackpad.

I think that @jonutzu is right. The only viable options is with cables and spliters. The wireless connections tend to be sluggish at a greater distance than 5m. Unfortunately, as he pointed out, the cables are a bit more expensive than the wireless option.
But comfort comes at a price, right?
