Noi medii de stocare, sau orice stiri in legatura cu HDD-uri si SSD-uri se pot posta in acest thread centralizat.

Stire:

Cercetatorii australieni au gasit o metoda de a stoca aprox. 1.1TB pe un DVD(da...ati citit bine TeraBytes). Ei se folosesc de proprietatile micilor "nanorods" din aur, ce raspund diferit la diverse tipuri de lumina, putand astfel sa inscriptioneze DVD-uri de pana la 10 straturi (layers) adancime. Se pare ca aceasta tehnologie nu are ca avantaj doar capacitatea crescuta, ci si durata de viata a DVD-urilor va fii considerabil crescuta, informatia fiind protejata de aceste nanorods. Se pare ca formatul DVD nu ne va parasi prea curand.

Adevarul ca ele sunt foarte performante, nu credeam ca se va ajunge chiar la aceste capacitati. Pretul cred ca e pe masura. Cred ca un disk din ala , costa cel putin 100 dolari.

Deocamdata nu costa nimic, e doar in etapa de testare/proiectare. Ideea e ca se poate ajunge si la acele capacitati fara sa se schimbe formatul.

@MMX - nu cred ca or sa lase HD-DVD-ul si Blue-Ray-ul sa iasa de pe piata. Am impresia ca toate astea vor ramane pe masa de testare...
Cat despre SATA 3, imi spuneti si mie ce e asa mare filozofie cu asta? Daca un HDD nu e capabil de o viteza de transfer mai mare de 180-200 MB/s (deci nici SATA 2 nu e folosit la capacitate maxima - nici macar de noile SSD-uri), atunci la ce am nevoie de ditamai autostrada de 6GB/s? Vorbesc doar ca home-user, desigur.

SSD-urile au ajuns deja la 250MB/sec, deci in curand vor ajunge la limita interfetei SATA 2, asa ca noua SATA 3 este binevenita as putea spune.

Am impresia că adevărata piaţă a SSD-urilor va fi cea pe interfaţa PCI-E . Acolo s-a cam depăşit sata-2 de multa vreme.

eu as zice ca mai degraba spre usb 3.0 se vor orienta ssd-urile mainstream (nu au nevoie de alimentare separata, si usb 3.0 se anunta tot la 6Gbit/s, nu? )

Daca se reduce pretul SSD-urilor la jumate, atunci anul 2010 va fi anul lor. WD si Seagate vor trebui sa se reprofileze, pana acum cred ca n-au scos nimic in domeniul asta, numai producatorii de memorii au in oferta SSD-uri. Chiar era timpul pentru o schimbare in domeniul stocarii de date, pentru ca in ultimii ani a crescut doar volumul de stocare nu si viteza de lucru.
