Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 and HD 5830 1GB Xtreme - TweakTown

It's all good and well for Sapphire to slap the "Xtreme" name on the models now that they're re-releasing them, but does it mean anything? Well, there's only one way to find out; but before we look at the performance, let's see the package of the cards, the cards themselves and have a closer look at the specifications that are on offer from these new revamped "Xtreme" versions.

This overclocked card brings the core GPU clock up from 823 MHz to 950 MHz and the memory clock up from 1002 MHz to 1100 MHz. The card is also bundled with a free version of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Let’s take a look…

GIGABYTE GTX 580 Super Overclock - OCAU

Upon arrival we noticed that it was a completely redesigned beast from the cooling, PCB design, power circuitry and amped up clock speed, all while maintaining a dual slot design and familiar form factor. So how does this perform against NVIDIA's reference design, and what features does it bring to the table? Let's fire up our test bench and find out!

PowerColor Readies Dual-HD 6870 Graphics Card - techPowerUp

Quote:
The two Barts chips will feature the BartsXT (Radeon HD 6870) configuration, with the card being designed to offer performance on par with HD 6870 CrossFire, with 3-GPU and 4-GPU CrossFireX support, and lower power draw than two single-GPU HD 6870 cards. The PCB design is the same as every dual-GPU AMD card ever made, there are two GPUs sitting on either sides of a PLX-made PCI-Express bridge chip, and each GPU system having its own VRM. There's 1 GB of GDDR5 memory over a 256-bit wide memory interface per GPU. Power is drawn from two 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors. The cooling solution is not pictured, but expect a multi-fan heatsink that spits hot air into the case.

Dupa iunie, iulie, conform http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/ite...ing-in-2h-2011
Oricum, o sa astepti mai mult de atat pt. un gpu de 600-700ron. Consumul va fi mai mic pentru ele(40nm=>28nm) si performanta n-as putea sa zic daca o sa fie sau nu mult mai mare.

MSI Radeon HD 6950 2GB Twin Frozr III PE OC'ed Video Card Review - TweakTown

The Power Edition cards tend to sit at that in-between spot where you want something more than a mid-range card, but don't want to go crazy and buy the highest end model. So with all that said, today we're looking at the HD 6950 2GB from MSI. As mentioned, it's a part of the Power Edition series and this particular one carries with it the Twin Frozr III cooler and an out of the box overclock.

GeForce GTX 580 SLI vs. GeForce GTX 590 and Radeon HD 6990 - XbitLabs

Quote:

Its Radeon HD 6970 is obviously inferior to the GeForce GTX 580 whereas the Radeon HD 6990 is a dual-processor card and depends on software support to deliver its best performance. Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 590 is software-dependent as well, though. Generally speaking, single-card dual-processor products are largely the result of compromises the developer has to concede in terms of GPU configuration and clock rates to meet the size, temperature and electrical constraints. The resulting multi-GPU card is of course inferior to multi-card solutions, although faster than any other single graphics card.

Dual-processor graphics cards are very expensive and may cost you as much as $700 now. Their target audience is rather limited, especially as people who can afford them may prefer to build a graphics subsystem out of two or more top-end single-processor cards from AMD or Nvidia. So, our today’s review is for those users who are considering the option of buying a couple of GeForce GTX 580s and running them in a SLI tandem.

Unlocking The AMD Radeon HD 6950 to 6970 - BIOS Flash Guide

Quote:
Legit Reviews learns you how you can flash a Radeon HD 6950 into a Radeon HD 6970!

"Upgrading the AMD Radeon HD 6950 graphics to a Radeon HD 6950 proved to be an enlightening experience. Testing the same card with multiple levels of shaders, core speeds and memory frequencies showed exactly how each of these things can have an effect in different ways. The largest gains came from completely unlocking the potential of the Radeon HD 6950 by fully flashing the BIOS, effectively turning it into a Radeon HD 6970. Each of the techniques that we used showed gains of different levels, however the biggest surprise was the minimal gains provided only by the shader unlock, which in some tests were almost non-existent..."

Eu am luat un Radeon 6950 si l-am flash-uit cu succes. Nu am avut probleme pana acuma, la nici un joc. Optiunea asta m-a decis sa imi iau un HD6950 in loc de un GTX570 .
