Thrustmaster Shows Off Replica A-10 C Stick
by techpowerup

Quote:
Gaming peripherals expert Thrustmaster displayed its latest joystick for consumer flight-simulators, and popular multiplayer online games such as Tom Clancy's HAWX series and Battlefield 3. Its design is a replica of the flight stick A-10 C Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft, an iconic plane for many military aviation enthusiasts. While games like Battlefield 3 don't give you playable a A-10 C, its playable fighters are equipped with chain guns that let you perform some ground-attack maneuvers. Apparently Thustmaster got all its design rights in order, as it bears the coveted "Hotas Warthog" and USAF badges. It is accompanied by a replica throttle unit.

Tt eSPORTS THERON Gaming Mouse Review - Real World Labs

Quote:
Since this is not the first gaming mouse to receive by TteSports i had a good idea about what to expect especially in terms of design but in the end i was overwhelmed by the THERON since simply put it is amongst the 5 top gaming mice i have used to date, at least in terms of accuracy and speed. True the design is something that some people will like and some will not but when it comes to accuracy and speed the THERON is quite amazing especially when coupled with a good mouse pad (the unit was tested on an aluminum one). Size-wise the THERON is ideal for people with medium sized hands (that's me) since it's not small but it's also not large either while the weight system is a nice way to adjust the glide of the unit according to your personal preference. The lighting effects are also very nice but honestly it's not the first time we've seen something like that so i doubt people will be impressed by them (yet they do look nice). As for the control panel well TteSports used pretty much the same user friendly design as with their previous units so adjusting the various speed and lighting settings of the THERON shouldn't be hard.

The current suggested retail price tag of USD70 inside the USA and 70Euros inside the EU is certainly set quite high and places the THERON right at the top with the most expensive gaming mice in the market but i really expect its price tag to fall once availability of the THERON gets better since right now only just a handful of online stores carry it globally. Overall the THERON Gaming Mouse by TteSports is not only a very good unit but it's also amongst the best ones I’ve ever used and so i doubt there's anyone out there who will be disappointed by its accuracy, speed, grip, build quality and design and that's why we are awarding it with our Editors Real Choice Award.

As it turned out though Cyborg were on to a winner and the R.A.T. products, such as the R.A.T. 9 were exceptional, offering high performance and unrivalled flexibility.

Now the San Diego based Mad Catz continue to expand its excellent Cyborg gaming mouse range and today we will be taking a look at their new version of the R.A.T. 7 Aimed at the large massively multiplayer online role playing game market the M.M.O. 7 looks to take all the innovative features of the R.A.T. 7 and add in the extra button and programming capability that the average MMO player looks for in a gaming mouse.

Enermax DreamBass AP001 improves laptop audio output

Quote:
It's based on a VIA VT1620A USB 2.0 2-channel HD audio CODEC for stereo output with 24-bit resolution and 96 kHz sample-rate. It has a signal-noise ratio of 80~90 dBA, which is not much of a departure from most laptops' HDA CODECs, if it isn't for the MOSFET-based amplifier circuit packed into the DreamBass AP001, that's capable of 80Hz/+6dB Bass.
It has a 3.5 mm stereo jack and mic input. Enermax also has a variant called the AP001E, which includes earphones that have 10 mm drivers, 95 dBA SNR, and 32 ohm impedance. The DreamBass AP001 is priced at 3,280 JPY (US $43); the AP001E goes for 3,980 ($52.2).

Cyborg GLIDE 7 Gaming Surface Review - eTeknix

Quote:
So overall, Cyborg have produced a very good mouse pad that combines the smoothness of a hard mouse pad, with the comfort of a soft pad. The graphic on the mouse pad could be considered the main flaw, some may like it, but it would have been a lot more appealing with something less obtrusive. The size of the pad is ideal for most gamers although it could pose a problem on smaller desks and getting it flat after it’s been in the tube can take a while and effort.
The price is very reasonable for a mouse pad of this calibre, however there are many pads on the market for a similar price, which the G.L.I.D.E. 7 does little to distinguish it’s self from. It is close to earning the Gamers Choice Award, but there is nothing that stands out, to set it’s self apart from the rest, so because of this, no award will be given, but it is still a worthy contender.

Genius DeathTaker mouse targets gaming market
Quote:

Peripheral maker Genius has revealed the DeathTaker, a new mouse aimed at MMO and RTS gamers. It's the company's first mouse targeted at gamers, the device offers nine buttons, built-in macro memory, a backlight with 16 million possible colors, adjustable X and Y axes, and weight management. Pricing in the US is $79.80, which seems kinda expensive for a newcomer.
The DeathTaker features an aggressive and sharply-detailed design with the all-important backlight, customisable through an entire 16 million colour palette. Bundled software, the Scorpion UI, allows gamers to customise five profiles with up to 55 macros for storage into the device's in-built memory. As well as allowing easy transfer to a different PC, Genius claims the in-built memory and CPU in the mouse prevents the macros being detected and blocked by games.

Those macros make use of the nine buttons spread out across the device's surface, each rated to a claimed 8 million clicks. Wired with a 1.8 metre braided cable for reliability, the mouse even includes a gold-plated USB connection for the difference that's likely to make.
Genius has also included what it claims is an 'in-built over-clocking SCGii engine,' which allows the sensitivity across the X and Y axes to be independently adjusted from 100dpi to 5,700dpi. The heft of the mouse is also adjustable, with six 4.5g metal weights included in the package.

Entry-level gaming mice already accomplish some of that, but Roccat probably sensed that as you move up the price ladder, gaming mice tend to get more specialized in size and style. Roccat will unveil its newest rodent at CeBIT (early March).

So Corsair decided to release the Vengeance K60 keyboard, a K90 keyboard as well as an M60 laser mouse (which we'll review later). With the K60 keyboard - targeted at gamers - they started developing a product to suit your needs. This keyboard comes with a 1 ms report rate, a 20-key rollover, USB connectivity, anti-ghosting and Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches.

ASUS Essence One review - Guru3D.com

Quote:
Introduction
The Xonar sound machine has been steadily moving forward and pushing the bar ever higher with each successive Xonar product offering. ASUS jumped into the PC soundcard game with both feet but until now have avoided the external DAC market that traditionally has been reserved for boutique manufacturers. This market segment is not easily approached as their fan base is usually comprised of the most demanding and discerning customers in the audio community.
ASUS announced their entry into the external DAC arena and were met with skepticism by many in the audiophile community. As many companies can make an external audio component but making one that sounds good is not so easy and generally takes experience in external designs. Another major question is could they produce a great sounding external DAC unit and still be within a reasonable budget for their intended market?
